My Filofax is my Therapist...

Ok, I know technically a Filofax will not 'cure' my anxiety and panic attacks (and sometimes even I don't know what I'm panicking over!). But it certainly does help.

I have owned a personal sized Filofax for three years, but recently it had not been working for me because the rings were too small and it was just overall WAY too small. So I was shopping around and found the A5 Malden on the Filofax website, Im not going to lie, this is a very pricey planner. but I was lucky enough to be gifted this one by my parents for my 19th.

My Filofax is used for all aspects of my life and this includes the work I do for the family businesses, the work I do for HannahMade, as well as my personal life. I also store coupons and vouchers as well as my finances and birthdays etc.

I will be giving a more in depth overview of the sections in my filofax but for now I am just going to show you the basic things I do in my planner.

Birthdays
Birthdays are very important to me, and where I make cards I need to make sure I remember to make the cards in advance.

Where I have not had my planner that long I have 'up cycled' the sheets that were provided but this doesn't mean I will not be 'Hannahising' my planner and using the address sheets to view Birthdays a month in advance is only temporary until I get chance to type this up, (this weekend hopefully).

Either way I have one of the dividers for birthday's where I can see all the Birthdays I need to cater to in the next month or even two if I need to.

On the day on the Birthday I write that persons name on the top of the day with a little sweetie sticker. This just reminds me and allows me to remember when I need to send their card and gift.

Finances
I have not got an image for this because this isn't just my finances but my boyfriends too. James and I are very open with what we earn, of course we know what I earn much more because I am on a set salary with bonus income from my jewellery. But where James is a uni student he only works part time so we like to track what we have and where we spend.

Other Dividers
I also have sections for HannahMade, Blogger, diet, groups I'm in the committees of. These will be shown more in depth when I've got it just right!

What My Week Looks Like
As you can see I am using a week per page which came with the planner. I'm not sure if this is the layout I would pick but because I came with the planner I will not waste it!

I have the today ruler book marking this this week isn't very full as my normal weeks are but its not as empty as some weeks. Purple is usually used to write down personal things like meeting friends for coffee, yellow is used to see when James is working, grey is meetings for my groups and pink is HannahMade.

The post-its are used for different topics, this week I have a post-it of what I need to complete this week for one of the family businesses and the other has repairs for people's jewellery. I also post-it shopping lists, other work schedules among many other things I want to do/complete this week.

Accessories
Post-it notes - I use these for everything, absolutely everything. I don't think I could compute without a Post-it here is just a small collection I use.

Pens - I use a bic crystal fine ball point for note taking and writing birthdays. But when I'm in the mood for a bit of colour I always use Staedtler triples fine liner.

What type of planner do use? Do you even use one or think they are useless?

A Little Flame

Who would have thought a bit of scented wax with a wick would bring joy to so many? I am clearly one of these people, (along with every other woman on the planet!).

In Particular my love of Yankee Candles outweigh my love for any others, I went off Partylite when they insisted on charging so much more for products which were getting lower and lower in quality, who wants a candle that refuses to light? Certainly not me.

So I thought I would let you in on my personal favourite scents from Yankee:

My all time favourite scent is Cherry Blossom, this has since been discontinued and no similar scent has replaced this, I have a small unburned jar (which I forgot to photo, ooppps!) so I can open the lid and give it a nostalgic smell.

In My large jars I have Pink Dragon Fruit which is a sweet fruity smell, this fills the room with a sweet shop like smell and makes me want to eat it! My other large jar favourite is Clean cotton, this scent I love so much I have it everywhere, I have the car air freshener in not only my car but James' car too and I have the room spray. I would recommend this scent to anyone who has not used yankee, there is nothing not to like about it.

Then For my medium jars I have fluffy towels, which is very similar to clean cotton, just has a warmer smell (if that makes sense?). I then have pink sands, I honestly cannot describe this scent, to me it is soft and loving scent, its a light fragrance but gives a very calming affect. The last one is Home Sweet Home and tho is most definitely a winter scent, it has hints of cinnamon but isn't overpoweringly so.

Then I have some small jars, clearly I really love fluffy towels because I felt the need to take a picture of it twice! Either way the other two favourites are black cherry which smells of what it says on the jar, cherries, this one smells more of cooked cherries, like a warm cherry pie, YUM!

Midnight Jasmine is not a favourite of mine scent wise but the aroma this one gives is very calming and relaxing and helps if you need help unwinding at the end of the day.

And I couldn't write a post on Yankee Candles and not include vanilla cupcake (or another variant on this which to me all smell the same, e.g., christmas cookie, vanilla frosting, the list is endless!) This is a sweet sickly vanilla cake frosting smell and everyone I have ever known has liked this scent. This particular Jar is the birthday edition which my brother got for me and I am yet to light!

What candles are your favourite?

Birthday Gifts

Hi guys!

I will be doing posts on a number of these products as well as a Filofax series because I got a new one! (excitement cannot be contained!)

I had a great weekend, surrounded by my friends, boyfriend and family and as usual I was completely spoilt beyond belief!

Hope you all had a good weekend too

Shoe Love

As promised I am getting round to showing my new shoes (finally!) may be a little later than hoped but is still within the week nonetheless!

I have been driving everyone (particularly my lovely boyfriend) insane on my perfect ankle boot quest. Since September I have been looking for a pair of chelsea style boots but without a heel and I also HATE the fully elastic panel.

So on Saturday we were shopping in a different town to usual when I walked past New Look, I had looked in there previously and not found anything so I was just going to walk past until I saw the boots of my dreams in the window, not only that but they had £10 all boots, bonus!

These boots have a small heel and leather paneling over the elastic which has pleased me and they were £14.99!

Then these accidentally fell into my arms on the way to checkout.. Oops... These were £24.99 once the £10 was taken off. James convinced me!

Sorry about the lighting , if you live in England right now you'd understand there is no sunlight! These are New Looks images so you can see the detail better! I promised I will Find my lighting booth soon!

Bits I Have Brought This Week

The issue with working on a computer all day is the fact I see every email as it comes in, mainly ones with discount codes! I have a complete lack of will power and I'm sucked in every time!

I placed an order with the body shop because they were having 40% off everything, and when this deal is happening (about four times a year) I always stock up on the skincare I am running out of or don't have a back up of because you still seem to get your 10% member discount.

The items I purchased are
  • Vitamin E Facial Gental Facial Wash
  • Vitamin E Facial Cleansing Bar
  • Vitamin E Facial Cleansing Wipes
I have have now used these products for two almost three years and love them. The soap bar is new to me and I brought this because (believe it or not!) I want to find ways to save money but not feel I'm restricting myself. As far as I can tell this is just a solid version of the face wash I'm using and loving, and at the fraction of the price I'll give it a go. All I've done is cut it into smaller pieces to make it easier to use. If this turns out to be a winner I'll save the liquid version for travel.

I also brought the Buriti Baby Mini Essentials but I sent this to my boyfriend's Cousin before I took a picture because she had her baby and wanted them to be able to use it as soon as possible!!

I then saw MissBudgetBeauty write a post about an Avon product she was loving, this reminded me of how much I love their shower gels (I did also buy two bottles each for my sister and Mum but I have given them these already so they are not pictured).

The Items I purchased were:
  • Cherry Blossom Shower Gel
  • Black Cherry and Nutmeg Shower Gel and Body Lotion
  • Apricot And Shea Shower Gel and Body Lotion
  • Avon Care Cocoa Butter Face Cream
  • Color Trend Fruit Lip Balm in Lush Lemon
  • Strawberry and Guava Shower Gel and Body Lotion
  • Senses Winter Cocoon Bath & Shower Creme
  • Senses Mystique Shower Gel
Smelling these are certainly bringing back out my inner child, and all of these products were half price of buy one get one mix and match meaning my whole order was £15 exactly.

My Mum also brought me my all time favourite hand cream from L'Occitane this week so I thought I'd take a quick snap of this and pop it in at the end along with the samples it came with!

Keep tuned for my post about my new shoe loves which will be uploaded this week!
